The New England Patriots tied their best victory streak since the Brady period as they defeated division rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the Patriots secured an eighth straight win for the first time since star signal-caller Tom Brady's final season with the franchise in 2019

Signal-caller Drake Maye accumulated 281 yards and a TD, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win extends the New England's lead at the summit of the division as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the New York bottom after dropping to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had scored first at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields scoring a short rushing score to finish the New York's first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second quarter as Henderson scored two short rushing scores before the running back caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third period to push the score to 21-7

"It was a big time for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on Henderson. "He desires to be outstanding."

Fields connected with John Metchie late in the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the Patriots sealed the win
